Woodford Wells Club
Founded in 1865 and set on the edge of Epping Forest, the Woodford Wells Club is a hidden gem. It offers the opportunity to play six sports. The club has modern facilities as well as a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Woodford Wells has a strong sense of community and is largely run by members for members.
In addition to tennis, the club’s facilities include cricket pitches, grass hockey, squash courts and an indoor sports hall for short tennis, table tennis, short mat bowls and keep fit.
Woodford Wells lays claim to being one of the premier tennis clubs in South West Essex. Tennis at the club caters for all ages and abilities. From mini tennis players to veterans. And from strictly social players to those who compete at club, county or national level.
Social Play
The club provides ample opportunities for both sociable and more competitive play. Various social sessions take place each week and are open to all. So you can simply turn up and mix in and enjoy playing tennis.
Coaching
Five coaches are available at Woodford Wells Club, ideal for those who are just starting out or who wish to take their game to the next level. With coaching offered from the youngest juniors to more established players.
Competitive Tennis
For those of a competitive nature, the club enters numerous teams (including men’s, ladies, mixed, veterans and mini tennis) into various summer and winter leagues.
The annual summer tournament offering opportunity for both doubles and singles play, finals day a highlight of the club calendar. Also, the club hosts an annual singles ladder with several divisions catering to all standards.

Since there are no joining fees or playing in tests, becoming a member of Woodford Wells Club is easy. Plus with a range of membership options available, the club caters to all.
Extras
Off court, the tennis section at Woodford Wells Club hosts a range of social events each year. These events include dinner and dance, friendly competitions, and the Wimbledon ticket ballot.
