Standon and Puckeridge Tennis Club
Standon and Puckeridge Tennis Club is a small village club founded in 1951. Located opposite the Doctor’s surgery and next to the Community Centre, the club sits at the heart of the village.
Social Play
Club activities include Thursday Club Night for members and prospective members with a committee member on duty. Midwekk Rusty Rackets sessions encourage those who have not played the game for a while to ‘come and have a go’.
Coaching
Coaching courses are provided for juniors throughout the year and there is a supervised Junior Club night on Tuesdays. By investing in the juniors, the club believes that they will go on and represent the club in junior matches sometime in the future. Sadly, no adult coaching available.
Competitive Tennis
For competitive players, there are both Mens and Ladies teams in the Hertfordshire League. There’s also a Village League for Ladies and Mixed. During the winter teams enter the Winter Mixed League; the Village league, both Ladies and Mixed as well as three Ladies Vets teams.
In addition to league play, club tournaments take place at the end of June culminating in a Finals Day and Club BBQ!
Membership
Standon and Puckeridge Tennis Club offers several levels of membership from Junior to Senior including Family, Off Peak and Senior Citizen.
