Rawdon Golf and Lawn Tennis Club
Rawdon Golf and Lawn Tennis Club is a private members club located approximately 6 miles north west of Leeds city centre.
Originally established as a tennis and croquet club around the mid 1870’s, the club, which now includes golf, prides itself on its friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As well as it’s exceptionally well maintained golf course and tennis courts. The club prides itself on its welcoming nature, appealing to players of all ages and abilities.
Social Play
There’s a great range of weekly session for all ages. So whether you want to play for fun against others, then you’ll enjoy playing at the club sessions each week. There’s even one for junior members. And of course, if that’s not enough weekly tennis, then you’re able to book courts for your own games.
Coaching
Coaching is available through Jonathan Sowden, an LTA licensed Coach. Jonathan offers a varied and interesting programme of coaching and fitness sessions for all ages and abilities with a special emphasis on juniors. So if you want to work on your backhand or sever, help is available.
Competitive Tennis
The tennis section competes with a number of teams at national, regional, and local level. The club also hosts its own tournaments as well as offering ladder and box leagues for single play.
Membership
Since Rawdon Golf and Lawn Tennis Club doesn’t charge a joining fee, becoming a member is affordable and easy. There are many membership options available and visitors are welcome for a small fee.
Extras
The tennis and golf members share the clubhouse and also has many superb facilities including an excellent choice of food and drink. These can be enjoyed in the comfortable surroundings of the Buckstone Lounge which is the perfect spot to relax in after playing tennis. The bar is also the venue for many of the club social functions.
