Oswestry Team Tennis Club

Formed in 1998, Oswestry Team Tennis Club came about to fill a void in the town for keen juniors to access courts and quality tennis coaching.

And as the club developed their current home in Cae Glas Park, Oswestry in 2002, the club registered as a Charity. The current facility was made possible by Barclays “Spaces for Sport” initiative as well as Oswestry Town Council.

Social Play

Group sessions take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, as well as on Saturdays.

Coaching

The club’s members enjoy a variety of coaching. Oswestry’s ethos is to provide a development path for Juniors in tennis to grow in an environment of quality tuition and fairness. Individual coaching for all levels is available at times to suit.

Competitive Tennis

The club currently competes with a Junior team in both the Men’s and Ladies Summer Adult leagues. Currently, Division 2 for Girls whereas the boys compete in Division. There’s also a team in Division 7 run by Clive Knight.

Several Juniors have achieved success in Club, County and International arenas. Juniors of note include Alan Bevan who achieved an ATP World Ranking and Ben White who won the British Grand Prix twice.
