Lancaster Tennis Club
Lancaster Tennis Club is part of Lancaster Cricket & Sports Club. And so members have access to the main Clubhouse facilities whose excellent facilities are available to hire by members.
Tennis members love the exciting and varied year round programme. So if you’re looking for more chances to play, learn or compete then Lancaster Tennis Club is the place for you!
Social Play
There are club social tennis sessions for adults on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday mornings and on Friday evenings. And in the winter and spring there are pre-book organised doubles sessions for members on Thursday and Friday evenings.
Also adult members are welcome to play socially in their own time. When members play in their own time they need to use the online court booking system, accessed from the home page of the Club website.
Coaching
The Club has a contract with Edentennis through which Level 4 coach Eden Parkinson delivers junior coaching sessions during the summer months at the Club and in the winter indoors at Lancaster Boys Grammar School.
Coaching is open to both members and non-members. Lancaster Tennis Club is committed to extending tennis playing and coaching opportunities to juniors from around the area.
Competitive Tennis
There’s a range of adult match play on offer. This includes a Good Friday social tournament, which always concludes with a BBQ and prize giving, as well as round robin events later in the summer season.
There are also annual men’s and women’s singles competitions.
The Club has a very strong track record in all local leagues and is the most successful Tennis Club in the area.
In recent years adult teams have won the Fylde Men’s Division 1, Lancaster Mixed Divisions 1 and 2, the Lancashire Small Clubs competition and Kendal Ladies Division 1 and Men’s Division 3.
And as a result competitive players are always welcome at the club and in the teams!
And the junior teams have won the U14, U17 Boys and U17 Girls Fylde Leagues many times.
Juniors have the chance to play in the annual Club singles and American doubles events and also in the annual LTA recognised grade 5 regional singles tournament which is normally held in the May half-term holiday.
Membership
New members are always welcome! As a way to encourage locals to join, there is an open day each year. This allows local residents to turn up, play some tennis, talk with members.
Rackets are available on the day, if you don’t currently have one. In addition to a range of membership options, all of which are affordable, visitors are always welcome for a small guest fee.
Extras
A range of social events is organised by the Tennis Club and other sections of Lancaster Cricket and Sports Club. These include music, quizzes, poker nights and bonfire night.
Members can also join the Club’s Quiz League team for autumn and winter quizzes on Monday nights.
