Great Baddow Lawn Tennis Club
Great Baddow Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1902 in Galleywood Road. The club later moved to its present site in Ladywell Lane in 1966. Since then the club has established itself as one of the foremost tennis clubs in Essex.
Tennis is available all year round at Great Baddow Lawn Tennis Club, thanks to it’s 6 floodlit all-weather artificial grass courts.
Social Play
Each week there five club sessions. While some are ladies only, all enable members to play regularly and work on their skills. Members can also book courts whenever they feel like arranging their own game.
Coaching
If you want to grow and develop your skills, then Great Baddow Lawn Tennis Club offer many opportunities to do so. Coaching starts with LTA mini tennis, which is a fun way for kids to start playing tennis. Juniors benefit from weekly group coaching sessions. In addition to adult coaching courses, the club runs a weekly Cardio Tennis session and also offers private one-on-one lessons.
Competitive Tennis
Various club teams compete in both the Essex League and the Chelmsford League. Club juniors also have many opportunities with teams in AEGON Team Tennis League, Chelmsford League, Halstead & District League. In addition the club hosts it’s own annual Open Tournament and Handicap Tournament as well as a closed tournament for juniors.
Membership
With a wide range of options and no joining fees or requirements, becoming a member of Great Baddow Lawn Tennis Club is easy. 5 days, 7 days and weekend only adult membership is available. There are discount available for couple and families are also very welcome at the club. Visitors are welcome to play for a small fee.
Extras
Post tennis games, members can usually be found the clubhouse’s bar relaxing over a drink or catching up with friends. You can also look the part with branded club clothing!
