Giffnock Tennis, Squash and Hockey Club
Giffnock Tennis, Squash and Hockey Club was founded in 1895. From humble beginnings on two ash courts in a Giffnock garden in 1892, Giffnock Recreation Club evolved into Giffnock Bowling and Tennis Club in 1895, at its present location in Percy Drive, Giffnock. In addition to tennis, the club offers squash and hockey. As well as having a large clubhouse with bar.
Social Play
If social tennis is your thing, then you’re welcome to join at a social club nights on a Thursdays and Sundays. These run throughout the year and you can simply turn up and mix in. If you want to book a court for your own game, then it’s easy to do online.
Coaching
If you are keen to improve your tennis ability then there is group coaching for all ages and levels with head coach Stephanie. She is also available for private lessons.
Competitive Tennis
Giffnock is active in a number of competitions. And so there’s something available to everyone who is looking for competitive play. A large number of teams compete in local leagues including juniors, adults and vets. The club also encourages a competitive spirit through internal tournaments.
Membership
Giffnock Tennis, Squash and Hockey Club offers a range of memberships including a single sport option, two sports and all sporting sections. There are different memberships available for all ages and even specific subscriptions for families. And as a result, Giffnock caters to all ages and abilities!
Extras
The clubhouse features a large bar which is often the setting for the club’s social events. In addition, the club’s coach also run a small shop which stocks Wilson sportswear and equipment as well as offering a re-stringing service.
