Essex Golf and Country Club
Located in Colchester, The Essex Golf and Country Club is one of the county’s premier golf and health clubs. This is place to relax, get in shape and play sports. Home to a very active tennis section. Members are welcome to get involved in match-play, club nights, tournaments or simply have a friendly knock about. The club’s LTA TennisMark award means it maintains good standards and has strong leadership.
Social Play
Tuesday is club night and they are always prove popular. These sessions are a fantastic way to meet other tennis players and enjoy a few friendly games in a relaxed environment. Plus each session is coach led, which ensure everyone gets a game. In addition to club nights, if you want to have a friendly knock about, then there is plenty of court time available for members to book.
Coaching
For those wishing to improve their game, a team of five LTA qualified coaches offer individual and group sessions for all ages. There’s mini-tennis for the juniors as well as extensive coaching for adult players of all standards. Therefore there has never been a better time to improve your playing.
Competitive Tennis
As one of the most competitive active clubs in Colchester, Essex Golf and Country Club has over 20 teams in local leagues. Teams are active in the Colchester league, Halstead league as well as the Essex LTA league. The club also host it’s own tournaments. And as a result players of all standard can test their playing in a competitive environment.
Membership
Essex Golf and Country Club offer a range of membership designed to cater to all types. And since there is no joining fee, becoming a members is easy and open to all.

After working out, relax with a spa treatment or a drink in the bar, or even a bite to eat. Also the club offers function room hire for all events including weddings, parties and business meeting.
