Amherst Lawn Tennis Club
Situated in the heart of Hastings in beautiful public gardens, Amherst Lawn Tennis Club is a well established members’ club which has a reputation for its good facilities, friendly atmosphere and range of tennis activities to suit all age groups and playing standards. As a community amateur sports club, membership is open to all.
Established in 1922, through the years the club has produced junior and senior County Champions whilst teams have consistently competed in the top Sussex Club League divisions. Today, it is proud to welcome all standards of player into its friendly atmosphere whilst retaining its high competitive standards for those who wish to represent the club in team events.
Social Play
While members can book courts up to two weeks in advance, you’ll enjoy playing at the regular social sessions. Adults meet for mixed doubles on a Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings. As well as on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
Coaching
The club’s highly experienced Coaching Team aims to cater for the needs of all standards and ages. Also they aim to ensure a good balance between coaching, club play and social/tennis events. Group and private lessons are available for adults. The Junior Coaching programme runs throughout the year and includes groups, tournaments, fun days and holiday camps.
Competitive Tennis
Amherst Tennis Club competes in many different competitions and leagues. Teams are open to all ages and abilities, so all members have the chance to play competitively.
Membership
Annual membership of Amherst Lawn Tennis Club works out at approximately £4 a week for seniors and £7 a week for family membership. Junior memberships are between 60p and £1.20 a week depending on age. Plus, new senior members get one month free!
Extras
As a superb community club, members enjoy meeting all year round for social events. These include fun tournaments, a fireworks evening, quiz nights, trips and so much more!
