Acorn Lawn Tennis Club
Acorn Lawn Tennis Club is a small friendly Club providing year-round tennis facilities for people of all standards and ages. The Club is located at the Arnold House School Activity Centre, which is close to Canons Park Station. And is also within easy reach of Edgware, Harrow and Belmont.
Social Play
At the heart of Acorn Lawn Tennis Club is social tennis. There are a number of social play sessions each week, which are always popular with players of varying standards and ages. In addition, there’s plenty of court time available for members to book. So if you want to stay active, meet new people and work on your tennis game then you have a range of options.
Coaching
LTA qualified club coach Karen Dawson is well known for her excellent coaching. She offers a range of group coaching courses for all age and standards. Individual lessons are also available. For the kids, Karen runs camps for juniors during the school holidays.
Competitive Tennis
In terms of competitive play, the club is active with three men’s and one ladies team in the Middlesex Slazenger league. As well as a number of junior and men’s teams in the Aegon Team tennis league. There’s also a range of club tournaments and a charity handicap doubles tournament each year. So, if you’re looking for more match play, then Acorn offers a range.
Membership
As a non profit making club, a enthusiastic committee of volunteers are responsible for running the club. Therefore membership is available at affordable rates. You’re welcome to join a social session for a small free, up to three time before committing to membership. And since there are no joining fees and a range of membership options available, becoming a member is simple.
Extras
Off court, members meet a couple of time a year for social events including fundraising events and Christmas meal.
