Latika Junior Tennis Club
Latika Junior Tennis Club was founded in 1971 by a retired professional tennis coach. He started giving informal coaching to a group of children and soon developed a devoted following. Soon the group became a club, and was named after a small community he had visited in South Africa. The club moved to the Farley Wood Community Centre in 1994 and has been there ever since.
Social Play
As a club aimed at children aged 5 to 18, there are no social tennis session. However, a range of coach led session are available.
Coaching
The packed weekly programme includes various coaching sessions. These take place on weekday evenings and every Saturday.
Competitive Tennis
Latika fields various teams in the National Junior Club Leagues. Many members have represented Berkshire with some having progressed to play at national level. In addition the club holds a range of internal summer and winter club tournaments.
Membership
You are invited to play at join up to four session in order to make your mind up. Should you decided to join, then membership fees of Latika Junior Tennis Club are affordable. Thanks in part to the volunteers who keep the club going.
Extras
Along with many awards, Latika was chosen as Club of the Year 2016 by LTA Berkshire. Matt Reid, the Latika’s coach was awarded Coach of the Year 2016 by LTA Berkshire.
