Borough Gardens
The Borough Gardens were laid out to a plan by William Goldring of Kew. The park was first opened to the public on 30th July 1896.
The Council operates four tennis courts. There are two courts within the Borough Gardens. With the other two located just on the other side of West Walks. Courts are open during daylight hours all year round.
Social Play
You can easily hire a court for your own game, simply turn up and pay to use any available courts. So, gather some friends, grab your racket and get on court!
Coaching
Since the club is a community pay and play facility, no coaching is available. Therefore if you want to improve your game, it might be best to look at other local clubs.
Competitive Tennis
A new Dorchester Tennis League started in 2015 to make it easy for men and women of all standards to play friendly competitive matches. Everyone is welcome. Players are organised into groups of a similar standard and arrange their own matches at a mutually convenient time. There are four 8-week rounds a year.
Membership
You can just turn up and play if there is a court available at a charge of £8.00 an hour. The council also operates a key fob scheme which costs £25 for a whole year, and enables play all year round. Therefore you can control how much you spend based on how much tennis you want to play.
